During the past several months, as the Borough of Aspinwall and The Mosites Company have been working through plans to revitalize the Riverfront District into an economically and environmentally vibrant part of our region’s landscape, we have met with many stakeholders who share a keen interest in what the future will hold. These meetings, particularly our recent focus groups within the Borough of Aspinwall, have resulted in several thoughtful insights.
We all share the common goal of creating a positive transformation for all of the region’s residents and it is for this reason, and at the suggestion of the Aspinwall Borough Council, that The Mosites Company is extending its study and review of R47 before submitting a land development plan application. It is the intent to stay engaged and apply at a later date when we have more information from these reviews. The community meeting initially scheduled for Wednesday August 30th is now cancelled, but focus groups will be ongoing.
Responsible community development is a complicated process that is both exciting and fluid. In the meantime, The Mosites Company intends to continue working with all the communities included in the project to shape the overall design. When that is in place, the public approval process in Aspinwall will continue with the goal of creating something that is truly transformational for our region.
The Mosites Company is grateful to the Borough Council for its guidance in this process, and our organizations look forward to our ongoing work together.
